Building Information Modeling (BIM) is a 3D model-based process using software and equipment that allows us to create a digital representation of the physical and functional characteristics of a facility. The information from the representation enables us to better manage the design and construction of industrial projects and provides improved communication between the customer team, the design team, and the construction team. Resources produced from this process, including 2D fabrication piece part drawings, bills of materials (BOMs), and interference detection, provide great value during the construction installation process.

AutoCAD Plant 3D: AutoCAD Plant 3D provides your VEi team with a full range of tools specifically for plant design to enable your team to create a complete, detailed 3D model of your project quickly and accurately. They can create and edit P&IDs, extract piping orthographics and isometrics, and more.
SOLIDWORKS: Your VEi team will complete a 3D model of the fabrication parts using the SOLIDWORKS mechanical design automation software program. It is a piece part based, dimensional relational, geometrical solid modeling design tool that helps to shorten development time, reduce costs, and improve quality of the final project.
Autodesk Inventor® 3D: Autodesk Inventor® 3D CAD modeling software provides your team with tools to help take a project from the conceptual phase to the design phase with little to no error, improving efficiency in engineering and design. Inventor easily converts 3D CAD models into BIM objects and allows your team to share data with key stakeholders for progress reports and feedback.
